HDA maintains a sophisticated supply chain based on Category Managed Merchandising (CMM) and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) models. Very few vendors obtain CMM or VMI status with their retail trading partners because there is a perpetual open to buy. Vendor – Customer relationships in the CMM and VMI models are at a strategic level versus traditional retail relationships that are more transactional due to the higher level of trust placed on the vendor. HDA’s Media Program is made up of two distinct processes – Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) & Category Managed Merchandising (CMM) and it provides retailers with the best competitive advantage.
