HDA is a privately held corporation founded in 1983 to provide custom home plans to home centers and their customers. In 1997, HDA acquired the assets of National Plan Service. NPS served independent hardware dealers in the U.S. and established its expertise in the home improvement publication category. In 2000, HDA purchased Foster and Hunt Marketing Services, Inc., a warehouse and order fulfillment business. Having direct control of its supply chain processing allowed HDA to grow rapidly.

In late 1995, HDA began to branch out from the home improvement market channel into home décor and cooking stores. In January of 2008, HDA Merchandising was formed by HDA, Inc.’s founder to meet the unique challenges of managing perishable products in retail markets that require national coverage, detailed and accurate reporting, and innovative merchandising solutions that improve program metrics.

 

 

It is estimated that HDA’s home plans have generated over $2 billion of product sales within the home improvement industry.
